Exactly, that is the point: we need to have a sober assessment of remaining resources and prioritize their use as you suggested: heating, food production, etc. As to your question regarding Uranium: with current usage, providing 4% of our global energy needs, we have 90 years worth of material left. If we replace coal, natural gas with nuclear we would run it in a couple of decades (not mention the fact that Uranium production will peak then fall, like every other mineral resource).
